Storing Photos
   Originals on Your Computer
     The original photos from your camera may be stored on your computer as is, but they must be properly sized
      before you email them to us or add them to the cart.
   Sized Photos within Cart
      A folder is provided (for example: myPhotos) for storing sized photos or images within the cart. See below for
      sizing info.

Photo Sizing
Your camera is probably pre-set to produce pictures that are print-ready. Print-ready images are of a much higher resolution and size than for use on the Internet. Therefore, you will need to resize your photos for use in the cart. In general, the following sizing guidelines will work the best in most Lease-A-Cart catalogs. However, we will let you know if a different size will work better for your cart.

You can use any sizing software that you want to use, but this is the best online software I have found to size photos-- Picknik Photo Editing --the instructions below describe its use. It is very easy and requires no prior software knowledge and it is FREE. Much easier and faster than the big software like PhotoShop. I keep a Picknik icon on my desktop and use it all the time. It will size pictures so that they are ready for the website and of a good size to email to us for initial setup -- no more huge files. Create the 'LARGE' size photo, the cart software will do the rest.

A) First, create the LARGE size photo to be stored within the cart. To size your existing photo, click on buttons:
1)  Get Started
2) Upload Photo
3) Choose a photo from your computer
4) Crop, if necessary
5) Resize
6) Choose dimension (you only need to put in 1, the other will automatically change) In most cases:
    a) Horizontal pix should be 640 wide by approx 480 high
    b) Vertical pix should be 480 wide by approx 640 high
7) OK
8)  Save & Share
9) Name photo in File Name box
     a) Name the pic to correspond with your inventory (sku) system
     b) It is usually best to start the name with the sku number and short description:
        1- Old pic was named ChanelBracelet
        2- New pic could be ab1001-ChanelBracelet
           a- NEVER have spaces in a name -- no b1001 Chanel Bracelet
           b- NEVER use unacceptable characters like ! # % &
10) Leave default as jpg and compression as pr-set
11) Save Photo to the folder within the cart.
And, it can be used for much more than re-sizing.
